The main objective of TONIC is to study the human brain and the main pathologies that affect it.
For a long time, it was believed that the brain, after the first years of life, had only a very weak capacity to compensate for the damage it suffered. We now know that, throughout life, the brain can adapt and even repair itself…

The laboratory is structured in three research teams :

  • the Devin team whose objective is to develop new neuroimaging tools that can be used in clinical and cognitive research.
  • The iDream team whose project is based on neuroimaging and brain stimulation techniques for post-injury brain plasticity.
  • The 3D CHIP team, which is interested in tissue engineering by 3D bio-printing and organoids on microfluidic chips, including the bio-printing of 3D mini-brains.
